Replacement

Instrument Panel Passenger Air Bag Assy:

REPLACEMENT
1. OBSERVE RESTRAINT SYSTEMS SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY




4. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR
a. Remove the clamp.
b. Disconnect the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly connector.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY W/PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY




6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts.




b. Disengage the claws of the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, and then remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel sub-assembly.

7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
8. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY W/PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY




10. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR
a. Connect the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly connector.
b. Install the clamp.

11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
Refer to Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection.
