Component Tests and General Diagnostics

INSPECTION

1. HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY







a. Inspect the light control switch continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary.




b. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

HINT: Turn the headlamp dimmer switch to the HEAD position when checking "LOW BEAM" and "HI BEAM".
Replace the switch as necessary.







c. Inspect the turn signal switch continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary.







d. Inspect the front fog lamp switch continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary







2. BACK UP LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY (M/T TRANSAXLE)
a. Inspect the back up lamp switch assembly continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.







3. PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (A/T TRANSAXLE)
a. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary







4. STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Inspect the stop lamp switch assembly continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary.







5. CENTER CLUSTER MODULE SWITCH
a. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary.
If the value is not as specified, replace the integration control & panel assembly.







6. FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Inspect the front door courtesy lamp switch assembly continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary.

7. REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Inspect the rear door courtesy lamp switch assembly continuity.
1. Check the rear door courtesy lamp switch assembly using the same procedures as for the front door courtesy lamp switch assembly.
Standard: Same as front.
Replace the switch as necessary.







8. BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
a. Inspect the back door courtesy lamp switch assembly continuity.
1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the switch as necessary.







9. MAP LAMP ASSEMBLY (W/O SLIDING ROOF)
a. Inspect the map lamp assembly continuity.
b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the lamp as necessary.







10. MAP LAMP ASSEMBLY (W/SLIDING ROOF)
a. Inspect the map lamp assembly continuity.
b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the lamp as necessary.







11. ROOM LAMP ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Inspect the room lamp assembly No.1 continuity.
b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
Replace the lamp as necessary.




12. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Inspect center cluster box illumination lamp operation.
1. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to the terminal 2 and the battery negative (-) lead to the terminal 1, and check that the illumination lamp comes on.
