OVERHAUL

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
SST 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080)

2. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB ASSEMBLY




a. Install SST to piping clamp.
SST 09870-00015

NOTE: Be careful not to deform the tube when pushing SST.

HINT: Confirm the direction of the piping clamp claw and SST referring to the illustration shown on the caution label.




b. Push down SST and release the clamp lock.

NOTE: Be careful not to deform the tube when pushing SST.

c. Pull SST slightly and push the release lever, then remove the piping clamp with SST.




d. Remove the bolt and separate the bracket.




e. Disconnect the suction hose sub assembly.

NOTE:
- Do not use tools, such as a screwdriver, to remove the tube.
- Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

f. Remove the 2 O-rings from the suction hose sub assembly

NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

3. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A
SST 09870-00025

HINT: Disconnect the liquid tube sub assembly A in the same way as for the suction hose sub assembly.

4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB ASSEMBLY W/PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

HINT: Refer to the instructions for removal of the instrument panel sub assembly w/passenger airbag assembly.

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB ASSEMBLY LOWER W/HEATER DUCT

HINT: Refer to the instructions for removal of the instrument panel sub assembly lower w/heater duct.

6. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE ECM




a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.
b. Disconnect the connector.




c. Remove the 2 screws.
d. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the ECM.

8. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING BLOWER ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the clamp.
b. Disconnect the connectors.




c. Disengage the 2 clamps and wire harness.




d. Remove the 2 bolts, 3 nuts, and 2 screws, then remove the air conditioning blower assembly.




e. Disconnect the 2 clamps and remove the wire harness.




9. REMOVE AIR FILTER CASE
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air filter case.




10. REMOVE DAMPER SERVO SUB ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 3 screws and the damper servo sub assembly.




11. REMOVE BLOWER RESISTOR
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and the blower resistor.

12. REMOVE BLOWER MOTOR COVER




a. Disconnect the rod.




b. Remove the 4 screws, the holding spring and remove the blower motor cover.




13. REMOVE BLOWER W/FAN MOTOR SUB ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 screws and the blower w/fan motor sub assembly.




14. REMOVE COOLER THERMISTOR NO.1
a. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cooler thermistor No.1.

15. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the packing.




b. Using a hexagon wrench 5mm (0.196in.), remove the air conditioning tube assembly.
c. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioning tube assembly.




16. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE
a. Using a hexagon wrench 4mm (0.16in.), remove the 2 bolts and the cooler expansion valve.

17. REMOVE COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB ASSEMBLY NO.1




a. Remove the screw.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the air duct.




c. Remove the 3 screws and the evaporator cover.
d. Remove the cooler evaporator sub assembly No.1.




e. Remove the 2 O-rings from the cooler evaporator sub assembly No.1.

18. INSTALL COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB ASSEMBLY NO.1




a. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to the contact surfaces of 2 new O-rings and install them in the cooler evaporator sub assembly No.1.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
b. Install the cooler evaporator sub assembly No.1 on the heater case.




c. Install the evaporator cover with the 3 screws.




d. Install the air duct with the screw and 2 claws.




19. INSTALL COOLER EXPANSION VALVE
a. Using a hexagon wrench 4mm (0.16in.), install the 2 bolts and the cooler expansion valve.

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

20. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY




a. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to the contact surfaces of 2 new O-rings and install them in the air conditioning tube assembly.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

b. Using a hexagon wrench 5mm (0.196in.), install the air conditioning tube assembly.

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)




c. Install the packing.

21. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB ASSEMBLY LOWER W/HEATER DUCT.
22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB ASSEMBLY W/PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY




23. INSTALL LIQUID TUBE SUB ASSEMBLY A
a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the tube.
b. Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the hose.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
c. Install the liquid tube sub assembly A and piping clamp.

HINT: After connection, check the fitting for claw of the piping clamp.

24. INSTALL SUCTION HOSE SUB ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the tube.
b. Lubricate 2 new O rings with compressor oil and install it to the pipe.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
c. Install the suction hose sub assembly and the piping clamp.

HINT: After the connection check the claw fitting of the piping clamp.




d. Install the bracket with the bolt.

Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)

25. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
SST 07110-58060 (07117-58060, 07117-58070, 07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080)

Specified amount: 460 ± 30 g (16.2 ± 1.1 oz.)

26. WARM UP ENGINE
27. INSPECT LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
