Front Seat Belt

Front Seat Belt:






REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
5. REMOVE SIDE NO.1 TRIM ASSEMBLY LH
6. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

CAUTION:
- Removal of the seat belt pretensioner must be started at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
- Carefully read the notes for the pretensioner in the SRS airbag system section and the front seat outer belt section.




a. To disconnect the pretensioner connector:1) horizontally pull out the lock part of the connector as indicated by the black arrow in the illustration, and 2) remove the connector.




b. Remove the 3 bolts and outer belt.

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the front seat LH.
b. Disconnect the 3 connectors and then disengage the 5 claws.
c. Remove the nut and inner belt.

9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the inner belt with the nut.

Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.




a. Before installing the ELR, check the ELR.
1. When the inclination of the retractor is 15° or less, check that the belt can be pulled from the retractor. When the inclination of the retractor is over 45°, check that the belt locks.

If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assembly.




b. Install the outer belt with the 3 bolts.

Torque:
4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf) for bolt A
42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for bolt B

c. Install the floor anchor with the bolt.




d. Connect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
e. After installing the ELR, check the ELR.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assembly installed.

1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt.

f. Check fastening function of the child restraint system.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt installed.

1. When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
2. After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.

If operation is not as specified, replace the belt.

11. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
13. CHECK SRS WARNING LAMP
