ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION1. INSPECT IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY AND SPARK TEST
a. Check the DTCs.
NOTE: If a DTC is present, perform troubleshooting in accordance with the procedure for that DTC.
b. Check that sparks occur.
1. Remove the engine cover No. 1
2. Remove the ignition coil
3. Disconnect the 4 fuel injector connectors.
4. Using a spark plug wrench 16 mm, remove the 4 spark plugs.
Torque: 19 N.m (195 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
5. Install each spark plug into an ignition coil, then connect the ignition coil connectors.
6. Ground the spark plugs.
7. Check that a spark occurs at each spark plug while the engine is being cranked.

NOTE:
- Be sure to ground the spark plugs when checking.
- Replace the ignition coil if a physical impact is felt while holding the spark plug.
- Do not crank the engine for more than 2 seconds. If spark do not occur, perform the given procedure.
