Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

REPLACEMENT

NOTE: When disconnecting the battery terminal, initialize the following system after the terminal is reconnected.

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1

3. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.




b. Remove the 4 bolts, then 4 ignition coils.

HINT: 1 ignition coil is installed with 1 bolt.

4. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY




a. Install the 4 ignition coils with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 9.0 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)

HINT: 1 ignition coil is installed with 1 bolt.




b. Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

5. INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
6. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
