Evaporative Check Valve: Service and Repair

VENTILATION VALVE SUB ASSEMBLY

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1




2. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE NO.2
a. Disconnect the ventilation hose No. 2 from the ventilation valve.




3. REMOVE VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a deep socket wrench 22 mm, remove the ventilation valve.

4. INSTALL VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the ventilation valve.




1. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads.
Adhesive:
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent.




2. Using a deep socket wrench 22 mm, install the ventilation valve.

Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)




5. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE NO.2
a. Connect the ventilation hose No. 2 to the ventilation valve.

NOTE: Make sure that the paint mark and hose clamp are at the correct angle when installing.

6. CHECK FOR ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE
7. INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
