Introduction

Some 2005 Scion tC customers may experience low cooling effect from the A/C system. This TSB provides a procedure to improve this condition.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure





1. Replace the Service Caution Label.

2. Evacuate Refrigerant HFC-134a (R-134a).

Equipment: Robinair
R-134a Refrigerant
Recovery/Recycling
Machine (P/N 342000)

3. Charge Refrigerant.

A. Perform vacuum purging using a vacuum pump.





B. Charge refrigerant
HFC-134a (R-134a).
^ Standard: 430 +/- 30 g (15.2 +/- 1.1 oz.)
^ Equipment: Robinair
