On-Vehicle Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION1. INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER OPERATION
a. Inspect power source circuit and ground circuit
1. Remove the turn signal flasher relay from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
2. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table.
3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table.
b. Inspect output operation signal
1. Install the turn signal flasher relay to the instrument panel junction block assembly.
2. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table.
2. INSPECT REAR COMBINATION LAMP ASSEMBLY
a. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table.
3. INSPECT LICENSE PLATE LAMP ASSEMBLY
a. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table.
4. INSPECT CENTER STOP LAMP ASSEMBLY
a. Measure the voltage according to the values in the table.
5. INSPECT INTEGRATION RELAY (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)
6. ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
a. Front illuminated entry system controls the following:
- Ignition key cylinder lamp
- Map lamp assembly (When the switch is in DOOR position)
- Room lamp assembly (When the switch is in DOOR position)
b. Check that the lamps come on (fade in) after:
1. One of the following doors is opened: driver's door, passenger door, back door.
2. Driver's door is unlocked with the ignition switch off and all doors closed.
c. Check that the lamps go off (fade out) after:
1. 15 seconds have elapsed with all doors closed and the ignition switch off.
2. All doors are closed and the ignition switch is turned on.
3. Driver's door is locked with all doors closed and the ignition switch off.
4. 20 minutes have elapsed with the ignition key not inserted into the cylinder and no doors opened or closed. (Battery saver function)
7. BATTERY SAVER OPERATION CHECK
a. Remove the ignition key and close all the doors.
b. Open the driver's door to turn the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp on, and leave it open. Check that the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp go off in about 20 minutes.
c. After the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp go off, close the driver's door.
d. Open any door to turn the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp on, and then open another door. Check that the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp go off within 20 minutes after opening the doors.
e. Close all the doors. With the ignition key inserted, open any door to turn the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp on, and then remove the ignition key. Check that the ignition key cylinder lamp, map lamp and room lamp go off within 20 minutes.
HINT: When the battery saver function is in operation, the lamps do not come on unless the ignition switch is turned on or any doors is opened or closed.
