Removal and Installation
RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (2AZ-FE)
REPLACEMENT
NOTICE: When disconnecting the battery negative terminal, initialize the system(s) shown after the terminal is reconnected.
1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
4. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET
5. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET
6. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO.1 (AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE)
7. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE NO.1 (AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE)
8. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 cooling fan motor connectors.
b. Disconnect the 2 clamps of the engine room main wire.
c. Disconnect the radiator reserve tank hose.
d. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 radiator support uppers, then remove the radiator from the vehicle.
9. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT LOWER
10. REMOVE FAN SHROUD
a. Remove the 2 bolts.
b. Remove the 2 pawl fittings, then remove the fan shroud together with motor.
11. INSTALL FAN SHROUD
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.)
12. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT LOWER
13. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the radiator with the 2 bolts and 2 radiator support uppers.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
b. Connect the radiator reserve tank hose.
c. Connect the 2 clamps of the engine room main wire.
d. Connect the 2 cooling fan motor connectors.
14. CONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE NO.1 (AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE)
15. CONNECT OIL COOLER INLET TUBE NO.1 (AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE)
16. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET
17. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET
18. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
19. INSTALL BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
20. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE
21. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
