Parking Brake Cable Assembly No.3

PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
REPLACEMENT

HINT: For the parking brake cable No.2, employ the same procedures as for the parking brake cable No.3.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
3. REMOVE REAR DISC
4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT LH
5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET
6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.1

7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.2
SST 09718-00010





8. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Remove the bolt and separate the parking brake cable assembly No.3 from the backing plate.
9. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY CENTER
10. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE HEAT INSULATOR
11. REMOVE FUEL TANK PROTECTOR NO.1
a. Remove the 5 bolts and fuel tank protector No.1.
12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3





a. Remove the 4 bolts and cable retainer from the body.
b. Disconnect the parking brake cable assembly No.3 from the parking brake equalizer, and remove the parking brake cable assembly No.3.
13. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Connect the parking brake cable assembly No.3 to the parking brake equalizer.





b. Install the parking brake cable assembly No.3 with the 4 bolts.
Torque:
6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 inch lbs.) (bolt A)
5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.) (bolt B)
14. INSTALL FUEL TANK PROTECTOR NO.1
a. Install the fuel tank protector No.1 with the 5 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
15. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE HEAT INSULATOR
16. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY CENTER





17. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.3
a. Connect the parking brake cable assembly No.3 to the backing plate with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)
18. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE
a. Apply high temperature grease to the shoe attaching surface of the backing plate.
19. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH
20. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.2

21. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH NO.1
SST 09718-00010
22. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET
23. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT LH
24. INSTALL REAR DISC
25. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
26. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE
27. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
28. SETTLING PARKING BRAKE SHOES AND DISC
29. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL
30. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL
31. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS
