Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLYREPLACEMENT
1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE: Wash brake fluid off immediately if it adheres to any painted surface.
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH
3. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT END PANEL SEAL
4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH
5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH
6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
7. REMOVE LH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
a. Disconnect the actuator connector.
b. Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the actuator with bracket.
SST 09023-00101
c. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.
d. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and the actuator with bracket.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
9. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts and the brake actuator assembly from the brake actuator bracket.
10. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the brake actuator assembly with the 2 nuts.
11. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
a. Install the actuator with bracket, the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
- Tighten the bolts and nut in order from 1 to 3.
b. Connect the actuator connector.
NOTICE: Make sure that the lever is locked securely.
c. Using SST, connect each brake tube to the actuator with bracket, as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)
12. REMOVE LH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY
13. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
14. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH
15. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH
16. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT END PANEL SEAL
17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
18. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
19. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER
SST 09023-00101
20. BLEED BRAKE LINE
21. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
22. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
23. CHECK ACTUATOR WITH HANDHELD TESTER
24. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLAMP AIM ADJUSTMENT
25. PREPARATION FOR HEADLAMP AIMING (Using a tester)
26. PREPARATION FOR HEADLAMP AIMING (Using a screen)
27. HEADLAMP AIMING INSPECTION
28. HEADLAMP AIMING ADJUSTMENT
