Rear Bumper: Service and Repair
REPLACEMENTRear Bumper:
HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER
a. Remove the 4 screws.
b. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.
c. Put protective tape under the quarter panel.
d. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 10 claws labeled A and 2 claws labeled B, 2 claws labeled C and remove the bumper cover.
HINT:
- The illustration only shows the RH side of the vehicle. The remaining claws are on the LH side.
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER
3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SHIELD BRACKET CENTER
4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT NO.1
a. Remove the 4 nuts and reinforcement.
5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 clips labeled A and clip labeled B, and remove the retainer.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and seal.
8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and seal.
9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH
a. Install the retainer with the 3 screws.
Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)
10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH
a. Install the retainer with the 3 screws.
Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)
11. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER
a. Install the bumper cover with the 4 screws and 4 clips.
Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)
