Front Bumper: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

Front Bumper:

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH




a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Partially remove the fender liner.

HINT: It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper cover can be removed in step 3.

2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER




a. Remove the 3 screws and 2 bolts.
b. Using a clip remover, remove the clip labeled A and 2 clips labeled B, and 2 radiator protectors.




c. Put protective tape under the front fender.
d. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 6 claws labeled A and 2 claws labeled B, and remove the bumper cover.

HINT:
- The illustration only shows the LH side of the vehicle. The remaining claws are on the RH side.
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE HOOD TO FRONT END PANEL SEAL
a. Using a clip remover, disengage the 8 clips and remove the panel seal.

5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and reinforcement from the bumper cover.

6. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE LOWER
7. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER
8. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER GUARD COVER LH




a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw labeled A, claw labeled B and claw labeled C, and remove the cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER GUARD COVER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER
11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSY




a. Remove the 6 nuts and reinforcement.

12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH




a. Remove the screw and bolt.
b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the clip labeled A and clip labeled B, and remove the side support.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

13. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

14. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH
a. Install the side support with the screw and bolt.

Torque:
6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf) for screw
12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) for bolt

15. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH
a. Install the side support with the screw and bolt.

Torque:
6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf) for screw
12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) for bolt

16. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
a. Install the bumper cover with the 3 screws and 2 bolts.

Torque:
6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf) for screw
12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf) for bolt

17. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH
a. Install the fender liner with the 3 screws.

Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)

18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RH
a. Install the fender liner with the 3 screws.

Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)
