Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Description and Operation

OIL REPLACEMENT REMINDER LIGHT




^ Oil replacement reminder light has been established in the combination meter, which will light or flash to remind the driver to change the engine oil depending on the vehicle driving distance.

^ Lighting and flashing of the oil replacement reminder light are controlled based on the accumulated mileage memorized in the meter CPU.

^ After the engine oil has been changed, accumulated mileage memorized in the meter CPU should be reset At this point, the accumulated mileage is reset to 0 and the cycle begins again.
Service and Repair

^ When the following conditions are satisfied, the meter CPU will turn on or flash the oil replacement reminder light.

- When turning the ignition switch on, the meter CPU will light on the oil replacement reminder light for 3 seconds for the bulb check.

- In case that the mileage after resetting the accumulated mileage memorized in the meter CPU exceeded 5,000 miles, the meter CPU will flash the oil replacement reminder light for 12 seconds after the bulb check and remind the driver that the engine oil changing time is near at hand.

- In case that the mileage after resetting the accumulated mileage memorized in the meter CPU exceeded 7,500 miles, the meter CPU will keep on lighting the oil replacement reminder light after the bulb check and remind the driver to change the engine oil.
