Manual Shift Detent Lever and Park Pawl Removal




1. Remove the 2 manual shaft detent spring bolts (712) and the detent lever spring (711).




2. Remove the 2 manual shift shaft detent lever bolts (715 and 718).
3. Remove the park pawl pin spring (704) and spring guide sleeve (705).
4. Remove the park pawl lock guide (708).




5. Remove the park pawl shaft (700) and park pawl return spring (701).
6. Remove the park pawl (702) from the transmission case assembly (17).




7. Remove the park pawl locking pin (703) and the park pawl stop pin (717).




8. Disconnect the park pawl actuator rod (709) from the manual shift shaft detent lever (710).




9. Using a chisel and hammer, cut the manual shift shaft spacer (714) and remove it.




10. Using a punch and hammer, drive out the manual shift shaft locking pin (719).




11. Slide out the manual shift shaft (716) and remove the manual shift shaft detent assembly (710).




12. Using a screwdriver, remove the manual shift shaft seal assembly (713).
