KM 6037 - Adapter
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).
1. Install the front differential assembly (13) into the transmission case assembly (17).
2. Install the torque converter housing (10) onto the transmission case assembly.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Temporally tighten the 15 torque converter housing bolts (801, 802, 813). Torque the bolts uniformly. Tighten bolts to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
4. Rotate the differential in both directions to snug the bearing down.
5. Using KM 6037 - adapter and a torque meter, measure the preload (at starting) of the side bearings.
* Starting Torque (New Bearing) 0.78-1.37 Nm (6.90-12.13 lb in).
* Starting Torque (Reused Bearing) 0.39-0.69 Nm (3.45-6.11 lb in).
6. If the preload is not within specification, remove the differential from the transaxle case. Re-select adjusting shim. Refer to Shim Size Specifications (Shim Size Specifications).
