Camshaft Cover Installation

Special Tools

KM-6009 - Remover/Installer

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).




1. Insert a NEW gasket in the camshaft head cover.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the camshaft cover (1) and bolts (2). Tighten the 11 bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).




3. Install the engine venting pipe (1).
4. Connect the 2 quick-release fittings.




5. Attach the engine management wiring harness to the intake manifold.

* Connect the wiring trough (2).
* Clip the wiring harness (1) into the guide.

6. Install the ignition module.





Note: When installing a new DIS ignition module, it is not necessary to replace the gaskets.

7. Replace the gaskets (2).




8. Using the KM-6009 - remover/installer (1), install the DIS ignition module.
9. Install the 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
10. Fit the DIS ignition module cover.




11. Connect the DIS ignition module wiring harness plug (2).
12. Clip the engine wiring trough (1) to the cylinder head.
