Vehicle Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front floor closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission))Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission)) .




3. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) electrical connector (2).




4. Remove the VSS bolt (1).
5. Remove the VSS (2).
6. Remove the O-ring seal (3) from the VSS (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the O-ring seal (3) to the VSS (2).
2. Install the VSS (2) to the transmission.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the VSS bolt (1).

Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).





4. Connect the VSS electrical connector (2).
5. Install the front floor closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Automatic Transmission))Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission) (Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front (Manual Transmission)) .
6. Lower the vehicle.
