Recirculation Actuator Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution (Battery Disconnect Caution) .

Important: Only upon replacement of air inlet actuator.


1. Disconnect the battery.




2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment.

1. Remove the 4 bolts (1).
2. Disconnect the wiring harness plugs.





3. Remove the recirculation actuator (1).

* Remove the 3 bolts.
* Disconnect the wiring harness plug (2).
* Release and disconnect the wiring harness plug.




Installation Procedure


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .


Important: The recirculation actuator can only be fitted in one position and is self-calibrating.


1. Install the recirculation actuator.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

2. Connect the wiring harness plug.
3. Install the I/P compartment.
4. Connect the wiring harness plug.

Tighten 4 bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).


Important: Only upon replacement of air inlet actuator.


5. Connect the battery.
6. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) .
7. Perform the function inspection.
