Defroster Valve Actuator Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution (Battery Disconnect Caution) .

Important: Only upon replacement of servo motor.


1. Disconnect the battery.




2. Remove the instrument panel insulator panel.
Remove the 2 retainers (1).
3. Remove the defrost valve actuator from the cam.

1. Remove the 3 bolts (2).
2. Release and disconnect the wiring harness plug.




Installation Procedure






Important: Turn the cam (2). Affix adjuster tool to the adjuster aid (3).


1. Install the enclosed adjuster tool (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the defrost valve actuator to the cam.
Connect the wiring harness plug of defrost actuator.

Tighten the 3 bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Install the instrument panel insulator panel.

Tighten the 3 retainers.


Important: Only upon replacement of servo motor.


4. Connect the battery.
5. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) .
6. Perform the function inspection.
