Rear Brake Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Top up the brake fluid reservoir to the MAX marking and seal.
2. Remove the rear wheel.
Important: Collect the escaping brake fluid and seal the apertures.
3. Remove the brake line connection (2) from the brake hose on vehicle underbody.
4. Unscrew the banjo bolt (1) from the brake caliper.
5. Remove the brake hose from the mounting.
* Remove the mounting (3) from the rear axle.
* Remove the bolt.
Installation Procedure
1. Insert the brake hose in mounting.
* Install the mounting to the rear axle.
* Install the bolt.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
Important: Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted when installed.
2. Install the brake hose to the brake caliper with a banjo bolt and new seal rings.
Tighten the brake hose banjo bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
3. Install the brake line to the brake hose with a clamping plate.
Tighten to 14 N.m (124 lb in).
4. Install the rear wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
5. Bleed the brake system and check for leaks. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Service and Repair) .
6. Top up brake fluid level so that it reaches the mark MAX.
