Front Brake Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Top up brake fluid reservoir to the MAX marking and seal .
2. Remove the front wheel.
Important: Collect escaping brake fluid and seal aperture.
3. Remove the banjo bolt (3) from the brake caliper.
4. Remove the retaining plate (2).
5. Remove the brake line connection (1) from the brake hose.
6. Remove the brake hose from the mounting.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
1. Install the brake hose to the brake caliper with a banjo bolt and new seal rings.
Tighten the brake hose banjo bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
Important:
* If present, install the brake hose for IDS+ chassis. Note the installation dimension (I) of protector (arrow). Installation dimension (I) 53 mm.
* Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted when installed.
2. Install the brake line to the brake hose.
Tighten the brake line to brake hose to 14 N.m (124 lb in).
3. Insert the brake hose in the bracket and slide on the retaining plate.
4. Install the wheel sensor wiring harness retaining clip (1).
5. Install the front wheel.
Tighten the front wheel bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).
6. Bleed the brake system and check for leaks. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Service and Repair) .
7. Top up the brake fluid level so that it reaches the mark MAX. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling (Procedures) .
