Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair



Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice.

1. Place a shop towel under the clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder reservoir in order to catch any fluid loss.





2. Disconnect the clutch hose (1) from the clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder reservoir.
3. Drain the fluid from the clutch hose (1) into a suitable container.
4. Remove the clutch hose/pipe assembly retainer clip (2) from the clutch master cylinder.
5. Disconnect the clutch hose/pipe assembly (3) from the clutch master cylinder.




6. Remove the clutch hose/pipe assembly (1) from the clutch hose/pipe retainer bracket (2).
7. Remove the transmission from the vehicle.





8. Remove the clutch hose/pipe assembly retainer clip from the clutch actuator cylinder (1).
9. Disconnect the clutch hose/pipe assembly (2) from the clutch actuator cylinder.
10. Drain the fluid from the hose/pipe assembly into a suitable container.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the clutch hose/pipe assembly retainer clip to the clutch actuator cylinder (1).

Important: Ensure that the clutch hose/pipe locks securely in place.

2. Connect the clutch hose/pipe assembly (2) to the clutch actuator cylinder.
3. Connect the clutch hose (1) to the clutch actuator cylinder and the brake master cylinder reservoir.
4. Install the transmission to the vehicle.





5. Install the clutch hose/pipe assembly (1) to the clutch hose/pipe retainer bracket (2).





6. Install the clutch hose/pipe assembly retainer clip (2) to the clutch master cylinder.

Important: Ensure that the clutch hose/pipe locks securely in place.

7. Connect the clutch hose/pipe assembly (3) to the clutch master cylinder.
8. Connect the clutch hose (1) to the clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder reservoir.
9. Fill the brake/clutch reservoir with DOT 3 hydraulic fluid to the proper fluid level.
10. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding.
11. Remove the shop towel and discard in a suitable container.
