Lower Control Arm ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the ball stud to steering knuckle pinch bolt and nut.
4. Lower the control arm in order to separate the ball stud from the steering knuckle.
5. Remove the lower control arm to frame bolts. Discard the bolts.
6. Remove the lower control arm from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the lower control into the frame using new bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) plus an additional 75 to 90 degrees.
2. Install a new ball stud to steering knuckle pinch bolt and nut.
Tighten the bolt and nut to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the tire and wheel.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Inspect the vehicle for alignment.
