Vehicle Speed Sensor Bracket Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
3. Remove the VSS retaining bolt, and remove the VSS.
4. Remove the rear, or LH intermediate drive shaft bracket-to-engine block bolts, and remove the vehicle speed sensor bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Position the VSS bracket to the intermediate drive shaft bracket, and install the intermediate drive shaft bracket-to-engine block bolts, beginning with the upper bolt.
Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
2. Position the VSS to the VSS bracket. Ensure that the VSS locating pin fits securely in the locating hole on the bracket.
3. Install the vehicle speed sensor retaining bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the VSS.
5. Lower the vehicle.
