Air Bypass Valve Actuator: Service and Repair

BYPASS VALVE ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the vacuum hose from the bypass valve actuator.
2. Remove the bypass valve actuator mounting bolts and rotate the bypass valve actuator until the rod disengages the lever.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Rotate the bypass valve actuator until the rod engages the lever.

IMPORTANT: When installing the bypass valve actuator to the supercharger, rotate the assembly until the bypass valve shaft lever comes in contact with the stop block.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bypass valve actuator bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Remove the bypass valve positioner from the bypass valve actuator. Discard.
4. Install the vacuum hose to the bypass valve actuator.
