Handle Replacement - Lift Gate

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the lift gate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lift Gate (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the license plate lamp electrical connector.
3. Remove the nuts from the lift gate lock and handle.
4. Remove the lift gate lock cylinder and let hang.




5. Release the license plate lamp retaining tabs then pull the lift gate handle strait out.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the lift gate handle to the lift gate ensuring that the license plate lamp retaining tabs are fully seated.
2. Position the lift gate lock cylinder onto the lift gate studs.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




3. Install the nuts to the lift gate handle.

Tighten the nuts to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

4. Connect the electrical connector to the license plate lamp.
5. Install the lift gate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lift Gate (Service and Repair).
