Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door

Removal Procedure




1. Ensure the window is in the full-up position.
2. Remove the outer front door panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Front - Bolt On ().
3. Pull back the front door sound insulator at the rear. Refer to Sound Insulator Replacement - Front Door ().
4. Disconnect the lock rod from the latch mechanism.
5. Remove the C-clip from the lock cylinder.
6. Remove the lock cylinder from the outer door panel.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the lock cylinder to the outer door panel.
2. Install the C-clip to the lock cylinder.

Important: The lock rod retainers used in the door lock levers and mechanisms are not re-usable. The retention characteristics are minimized once a rod is extracted. The retainers must be replaced every time a rod is extracted.


3. Connect the lock rod to the latch mechanism with a new retainer.
4. Pull back the front door sound insulator. Refer to Sound Insulator Replacement - Front Door ().
5. Install the outer front door panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Front - Bolt On ().
6. Inspect the lock cylinder for proper operation.
