Lock Cylinder Rod - Front Door
REMOVAL1. Remove door trim panel front.
IMPORTANT: Replace water deflector if damaged.
2. Remove water deflector carefully by peeling back the edges.
3. Detach front lock rod from latch assembly by pulling outward.
4. Remove lock rod by pulling up through access hole.
5. Remove door handle actuator rod front inside.
6. Remove window guide by removing bolt in door jamb and sliding guide downward.
7. Disconnect electrical connections from latch mechanism.
8. Use marker to identify correct lock rod orientation to aid installation.
9. Remove latch mechanism from door structure.
10. Remove lock cylinder lock rod from latch mechanism by rotating latch mechanism as required.
11. Remove lock cylinder lock rod from lock cylinder by routing rod through retainer.
INSTALLATION
1. Route lock cylinder lock rod through retainer in lock cylinder.
2. Attach latch mechanism to lock rod aligning to previous marks and also ensuring door handle actuator rod connects to latch mechanism before bolts are installed.
3. Install latch mechanism in correct position.
Torque:
Latch-to-Door Bolts: 10 N.m(89 in-lbs)
4. Connect electrical connection to latch mechanism.
5. Install window guide by sliding guide upward to engage retainer into slot.
6. Install window guide bolt.
Torque:
Window Guide Bolt: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)
7. Place lock rod through access hole.
8. Attach lock rod to clip by pushing toward outer door panel.
9. Install door handle actuator rod front inside.
10. Verify correct operation of all actuator rods.
IMPORTANT: Replace water deflector if damaged.
11. Install water deflector to previous holes and position.
12. Install front door trim panel.
