Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
3. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
5. Remove the HVAC control. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement in HVAC - Manual.
6. Remove the left air outlet louver. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Deflector Replacement - Left Side .
7. Remove the right air outlet louver. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Deflector Replacement - Right Side .
8. Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Defroster Grille Replacement).
9. Remove the I/P cluster.




10. Remove the harness clips from the I/P.
11. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
12. Remove the I/P compartment.
13. Remove the hood release handle.
14. Remove the data link connector (DLC) from the I/P.




15. Remove the I/P to floor bracket fasteners.




16. Remove all harness clips from the I/P.




17. Remove the I/P fasteners.




18. Remove the I/P from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the I/P to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the I/P fasteners.

Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb in).




3. Install all harness clips to the I/P.




4. Install the I/P to floor bracket fasteners.

Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb in).

5. Install the DLC to the I/P.
6. Install the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
7. Install the I/P compartment.
8. Install the steering wheel.




9. Install the harness clips to the I/P.
10. Install the I/P cluster.
11. Install the right air outlet louver.
12. Install the left air outlet louver.
13. Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Defroster Grille Replacement).
14. Remove the HVAC control. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement in HVAC - Manual.
15. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
16. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (Service and Repair).
17. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
18. Connect the negative battery cable.
19. Verify the operation of all components in the I/P.
