CD Changer/Player Installation

IMPORTANT:
^ CD Changer/Player unit must be installed after the bracket is installed.
^ If a U-Nut is already present at lower attachment point on sheet metal, it will be used later in this procedure to re-install convenience net.




1. Install U-Nuts to specified attachment point in sheet metal.

IMPORTANT: Do not install the fasteners that attach the trunk side carpet to the vehicle.




2. Position rear compartment side carpet to side of vehicle.




3. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut hole in raised portion of rear compartment side carpet at U-Nut location to provide room for bracket to go through carpet and attach to vehicle.




4. Align bracket over side trim ensuring bracket is straight.
5. Mark with a pen or sharp tool where Riv-Nut holes are beneath it.
6. Mark with a pen or sharp tool where connector should come through (near lower edge of bracket.)
7. Pull bracket away.
8. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut holes in rear compartment side carpet for fasteners to go through into Riv-Nuts.
9. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut slit in rear compartment side carpet for connector to go through.
10. Pull Body CD jumper through trunk side carpet slit.




11. Position rear compartment side carpet back in place to side of vehicle.
12. Install fasteners that attach rear compartment side carpet to vehicle.
13. Position decklid weatherstrip over rear compartment side carpet.




14. Position rear compartment floor carpet into place.




15. Hold bracket in installation location.
16. Attach bracket to vehicle with screws.

Torque:
CD Changer/Player Bracket-to-Vehicle Fastener - Sedan: 8 N.m (71 in-lbs)

17. Before fastening CD changer/player to bracket, make electrical connection and temporarily connect the negative battery cable. Verify that CD changer/player is functioning properly, then disconnect the negative battery cable.
18. Install CD changer/player to bracket.

Torque:
CD Changer/Player-to-CD Changer/Player Bracket Fasteners - Sedan: 4 N.m (35 in-lbs)




19. If equipped with a convenience net, attach U-Nut to side attachment on CD changer/player bracket.
20. Attach convenience net to CD changer/player bracket.
