Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Place a prop under rear decklid that will safely support lid.
2. Remove decklid springs marking the specific position with tape.
3. Pull springs rearward to disengage.
4. Remove hinge bolts from decklid.
5. Remove rear quarter window trim finish panel. Refer toCELL LINK C Pillar Trim Removal in Interior Trim.
6. Remove rear shelf panel. Refer to CELL LINK Rear Shelf
Panel-Sedan Removal in Interior Trim.




7. Remove hinge to body bolt.




8. Remove electrical wire harness from left side hinge.
9. Remove hinge.







10. If decklid is to be replaced, remove wire harness from decklid and reinstall wire harness in the same position on the new decklid.

Installation Procedure

1. Install hinge and fasten to the body with bolt.

Tighten the decklid hinge-to-body bolts to 25 Nm (19 lb ft).

2. Install decklid springs by pulling springs rearward and engaging in proper slot previously marked.
3. Install decklid.

Tighten the decklid-to-decklid hinge bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install wire harness.
5. Align rear decklid.
6. Install rear shelf panel. Refer to CELL LINK Rear Shelf
Panel-Sedan Installation in Interior Trim.
7. Install rear quarter window trim finish panel. Refer toCELL LINK C Pillar Trim Installation in Interior Trim.
