Clutch Pedal Assembly: Service and Repair

CLUTCH PEDAL

REMOVAL





1. Remove left lower I/P closeout panel (hush panel) push pins.
2. Remove left lower UP closeout panel (hush panel) from vehicle.





3. Remove HVAC duct push pin and remove duct from vehicle.





4. Remove wire harness channel from clutch pedal bracket.





5. Disconnect clutch start switch electrical connector.





6. Remove the clutch start switch.
6.1. Insert feeler gauge between the switch and clutch pedal bracket to release the switch locking tab.





6.2. Slide switch downward to remove from bracket.





7. Disconnect clutch cruise switch electrical connector.





8. Remove clutch cruise switch.
8.1. Slide out red locking collar.
8.2. Depress side tabs and remove switch.





9. Remove clutch master cylinder push rod from clutch pedal.





10. If vehicle is equipped, remove stereo amplifier fasteners from I/P beam and slide amplifier out of the way.





11. Remove clutch pedal bracket to I/P beam fasteners.





12. Remove clutch pedal bracket to front of dash nuts. These nuts are accessible from under hood.
13. Remove clutch pedal assembly.

INSTALLATION





1. Position pedal in vehicle.
2. Install clutch pedal assembly to front of dash fasteners.
Torque:
Clutch Pedal Asm-to-Front of Dash Nuts: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)





3. Install clutch pedal bracket to I/P beam fasteners.
Torque:
Clutch Pedal Bracket-to-I/P Beam Fasteners: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)





4. If vehicle is equipped, install radio amplifier.
Torque:
Radio Amplifier Retaining Fasteners: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)





5. Install clutch start switch.
5.1. Insert tabs of switch in bracket and slide switch upward until locking tab engages.





6. Install clutch cruise switch.
6.1. Pull out red locking collar.
6.2. Depress sides and install switch.
6.3. Slide red locking collar back into the lock position.
7. Connect clutch cruise switch and clutch start switch electrical connectors.





8. Install clutch master cylinder push rod to clutch pedal.





9. Install wire harness channel.





10. Install HVAC duct work.





11. Install left lower I/P closeout panel (hush panel).
