Removal

^ TOOLS REQUIRED
- SA9155S Strut Spring Compressor

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove wheel and tire assemblies.





3. Remove brake hose and if equipped the ABS harness from the strut assembly.

IMPORTANT: Do not remove fasteners at this time.





4. Loosen steering knuckle to strut fasteners.

NOTICE: Hold ball stud from turning when removing nut. The boot can become torn and damaged if the ball stud turns.





5. Remove stabilizer bar link to strut assembly attachment nut, and move link toward rear of vehicle.





6. Remove strut assembly-to-body attachment nut.

NOTICE: Before removing strut assembly, place a rag over CV joint boot to protect it from damage.

7. Remove the two steering knuckle to strut fasteners and discard nut and bolt.
8. Remove strut assembly from vehicle.
