Rear Seat Center Shoulder Belt Buckle (2001 Only)

REMOVAL

IMPORTANT: This seat belt buckle is for use only in the rear seat center position on the Saturn L-Series Sedan.




1. Pull on rear seat cushion retainer straps while pulling up on rear seat cushion to disengage rear seat cushion from floor.
2. Remove rear seat cushion from vehicle.




3. Remove rear seat center seat belt buckle fastener and remove rear seat center belt assembly.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: APPLY LOCTITE 242(R) THREADLOCK (OR EQUIVALENT) ON ALL RESTRAINT BOLTS/NUTS BEFORE INSTALLATION.

NOTE: Ensure the safety belt label is pointing to the release button, and that both are facing the front of the vehicle. Ensure the belt is not twisted. Push and pull on the latch plate to be sure it is secure.




1. Install rear seat center belt buckle and fastener to vehicle with locating tab facing downward in position slot.

Torque:
Rear Seat Center Belt Buckle Fastener: 35 N.m (26 ft-lbs)

2. Position rear seat cushion into vehicle.
3. Route center seat belt through seat cushion.
4. Snap rear seat cushion into attaching retainers.
5. Pull up on seat to ensure seat is properly installed.
6. Function rear seat shoulder belt to ensure proper operation.
