Muffler Heat Shield

MUFFLER HEAT SHIELD

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST.





1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove muffler to exhaust resonator clamp.





3. Separate muffler from exhaust resonator pipe.
4. Remove body isolators from muffler.
5. Remove muffler from vehicle.





6. Remove muffler heat shield attachment bolts.
7. Remove heat shield from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Position heat shield into vehicle and tighten fasteners.
Torque:
Heat Shield-to-Body Attachment Nuts: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)





2. Position muffler onto exhaust resonator pipe and install isolators.

IMPORTANT: Do not tighten clamp and crush exhaust pipe.





3. Install exhaust resonator pipe to muffler clamp and tighten.
4. Lower vehicle from hoist.
5. Check exhaust system for leaks.
