Rear Exhaust Manifold Pipe to Manifold Gasket

REAR EXHAUST MANIFOLD PIPE TO MANIFOLD GASKET

REMOVAL





1. Remove exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST.

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.





3. Remove exhaust manifold to rear exhaust manifold pipe fasteners.

NOTICE: Excessive movement of the pipe can damage the flex pipe.





4. Remove rear exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust manifold pipe nuts.
5. Pull down rear exhaust manifold pipe just enough to remove gasket.
6. Remove old gasket and discard.

INSTALLATION





1. Install a new gasket onto exhaust manifold studs.
2. Install rear exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust manifold nuts and tighten.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Pipe-to-Exhaust Manifold Nuts: 30 Nm (25 ft. lbs.)





3. Install rear exhaust manifold pipe to front exhaust manifold pipe bolts and tighten.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Pipe Bolts: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
4. Lower vehicle from hoist.





5. Install exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Pipe Heat Shield Bolts: 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
6. Check entire exhaust system for leaks.
