Vacuum Brake Booster: Adjustments

POWER BRAKE BOOSTER PUSH ROD ADJUSTMENT

IMPORTANT: The push rod length is adjusted at the factory and should not need adjustment. If the adjustment has been tampered with, the following procedure should be used.

1. Remove brake booster from vehicle.





IMPORTANT: The dimension is measured from the brake booster mounting surface to the end of the brake booster push rod connector.

2. Loosen adjuster jam nut.
3. Adjust brake booster push rod connector length to 184.75 mm ± 0.25 mm (7.27 inch ± 0.01 inch).
4. Tighten adjuster jam nut to brake booster push rod connector.
Torque: Adjuster Jam Nut-to-Brake Booster Push Rod Connector: 18 Nm (159 inch lbs.)
