Console Replacement - Automatic Transaxle
REMOVAL1. Disable SIR system.
2. Apply parking brake lever.
3. Remove window mirror switch (if equipped).
a. Exert pressure on rear with hand.
b. Pry up with blunt tool at rear retainer assembly tabs.
c. Lift window mirror switch up and out.
d. Disconnect electrical connector by locating retention tabs and disengaging connectors.
4. Adjust front seats to most forward position.
5. Remove rear console screws.
6. Adjust front seats to most rearward position.
7. Remove left and right lower trim panel extensions by pulling outward at dual lock locations.
8. Rotate panels outward to disengage hinges from console.
9. Remove front console screws.
10. Move console rearward.
11. Disengage retaining tabs and disconnect power outlet connector.
12. On automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, press and tape gear selector button into clear shifter opening.
13. Select neutral for transaxle gear (on automatic transaxles).
14. Maneuver console beyond gear selector and parking brake by lifting rear of console.
15. Remove console from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply park brake.
2. Adjust front seats to most rearward position.
3. Recline driver's and passenger's seatbacks as far down as possible.
4. Select neutral for transaxle gear (on automatic transaxles).
5. Hold front end of console down and rear end up.
6. Position all harnesses so they can be accessed.
7. Maneuver console over gear selector lever and past brake lever.
8. Connect power outlet electrical connector.
9. On automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, remove tape from gear selector.
10. Install rear console screws and tighten.
- Torque: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
11. Install front console screws and tighten.
- Torque: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
12. Install left and right extension panels by inserting hinges into console.
13. Rotate close and push in at dual lock locations.
