Blower Motor Replacement
1. Turn ignition On and select outside air on HVAC control head.
2. Turn ignition Off.
3. Open engine compartment hood and disconnect negative battery cable.
4. Remove wiper arm assemblies.
CAUTION:
SHARP EDGE REVEALED AFTER WEATHERSTRIP IS REMOVED.
5. Remove weatherstrip at rear of engine compartment.
6. Remove cowl retaining nuts and remove cowl screen assembly.
7. Rotate locking tabs outward to release passenger compartment air filter assembly.
8. Remove filter by lifting straight up.
9. Remove passenger compartment air filter housing attachment bolts and remove filter housing.
10. Remove blower motor housing screws, release locking tabs and remove fan housing.
11. Disconnect blower motor electrical connector by squeezing bottom of connector and pulling downward.
NOTICE:
It may be necessary to reconnect battery and activate wipers so the blower motor housing will clear the wiper linkage.
12. Remove blower motor assembly by lifting straight out.
13. Obtain new replacement blower motor assembly (P/N 24427572).
14. Install new blower motor assembly into module housing. Fan motor assembly rib must be located into channel in module housing.
15. Connect blower motor electrical connector.
16. Install blower motor housing. Housing rib must fit into slot in module case. Snap left and right clip into place and install fan housing to module screws.
Torque:
Fan Housing-to-Blower Motor Housing
Screws: 1 Nm (9 in-lbs)
NOTICE:
A new filter housing seal must be used whenever the filter housing is removed to prevent water from leaking into the HVAC module.
17. Remove filter housing seal using a small flat blade screwdriver.
18. Install new filter housing seal (P/N 09179222).
19. Install passenger compartment air filter housing and screws.
Torque:
Filter Housing Screws: 3.5 Nm (31 in-lbs)
20. Install passenger compartment air filter paying special attention to air flow direction indicator printed on side of filter.
21. Rotate locking tabs on filter housing inward to secure filter in place.
22. Install cowl screen and fasteners.
Torque:
Screen-to-Front of Dash: 1 Nm (9 in-lbs)
23. Install weatherstrip at rear of engine compartment.
24. Close passenger compartment air filter access door.
25. Install wiper arm assemblies.
Torque:
Wiper Arm Retaining Nuts: 12 Nm (9 ft-lbs)
