Air Door Actuator / Motor: Service and Repair
CABIN AIR RECIRCULATION ACTUATORREMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Open glove box door.
3. Remove glove box lamp assembly by pulling on lamp plunger.
4. Disconnect glove box lamp wiring harness from glove box lamp.
5. Remove right side I/P lower dash insulator retainers.
6. Pull insulator rearward to detach from forward insulator retainers.
7. Remove right side heater duct assembly retainer and remove duct.
8. Remove glove box door.
9. Remove glove box bin fasteners.
10. Slowly remove glove box bin tilting bin downward to expose the BCM module residing on top of the glove box.
11. Remove BCM module from glove box by sliding module out of attaching slots.
12. Remove glove box bin.
13. Disconnect recirculation actuator electrical connector.
14. Remove recirculation actuator bracket screws.
15. Remove recirculation actuator assembly from shaft by pulling assembly towards the front of dash.
INSTALLATION
1. Install re-circulation actuator assembly onto door shaft. Shaft has two flats that must be aligned to actuator.
2. Install re-circulation actuator bracket to module screws.
Torque: 1.0 N.m (9 in-lbs)
3. connect recirculation actuator electrical connector.
4. Install glove box bin partially into opening.
5. Secure BCM module to glove box bin slots.
6. Route glove box lamp wiring harness through lamp opening.
7. Install glove box bin to I/P with fasteners.
Torque: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)
8. Connect glove box lamp wiring harness to glove box lamp.
9. Snap lamp into glove box bin.
10. Install heater outlet duct with retainer.
11. Install lower dash insulator with retainers.
12. Function glove box lamp and glove box door to ensure proper operation.
13. Install glove box door with fasteners.
Torque: 2 N.m (18 in-lbs)
14. Connect negative battery cable.
Torque: 17 N.m (151 in-lbs)
