Oil Baffle Replacement


REMOVAL





1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Refer to "Battery Disconnect Caution" in Service Precautions.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED. MAKE SURE HOIST DOES NOT CONTACT FUEL OR BRAKE LINES.

2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Drain engine oil.
4. Remove oil pan. Refer to "Oil Pan Replacement".
5. Remove oil pan baffle bolts.
6. Remove oil pan baffle.
7. Clean following components:
- Clean oil pan.
- Clean oil pan housing.
- Clean gasket surfaces.

INSTALLATION





1. Install oil pan baffle.
2. Install oil pan baffle bolt.
- Torque: 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)

IMPORTANT: Refer to "Oil Pan Replacement". Application of RTV and oil pan alignment is critical.

3. Install oil pan housing.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Refill engine with 5 qts. of oil.
6. Reconnect negative battery cable.
