Coolant Reservoir: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant. (Refer to "Draining Coolant".)
3. Remove head degas hose to surge tank clamp and remove hose.
4. Remove return hose to surge tank clamp and remove hose from fitting.
5. Remove radiator degas to surge tank clamp and remove hose.
6. Remove rear surge tank attachment clip.
7. Remove surge tank from mounting tabs by rotating forward and inward.
8. Disconnect low coolant level sensor electrical connector and remove surge tank.
INSTALLATION
1. Connect low coolant level sensor electrical connector to surge tank.
2. Install return hose to surge tank and install clamp at 2 o'clock position.
3. Slide surge tank onto lower and rail mounting tabs.
4. Install surge tank rear retaining clip.
5. Install head degas hose to surge tank and install clamp at 1 o'clock position.
6. Install radiator degas hose to surge tank and install clamp at 12 o'clock position.
7. Connect negative battery cable.
^ Torque: 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)
8. Fill cooling system. (Refer to "Coolant Replacement").
9. Use fresh water to rinse away any coolant that was spilled during service.
