Rear Split Folding Seat Back Cover, Pad, and Back Panel Replacement (Passenger Side)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the rear seat back assembly. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement (Sedan) (Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement (Sedan))Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement (Wagon) (Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement (Wagon)) .




2. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, gently pry up to remove the seat back escutcheon.
3. Starting at the rearmost portion of the escutcheon, pull upward to remove the rear seat back latch escutcheon.




4. Pull the seat back cover J-strip off of the rear seat back panel.




5. Using a trim tool, remove the rear seat back panel and lift up the rear seat back panel cover.
6. Pull the seat back cover J-strip off of the rear seat back panel.




7. Lay the cover face down and lift up the back panel to disengage the rear seat back cover rear upper attachment.
8. Remove the rear seat back cover/pad hog rings from the foam and remove the cover/pad.



Installation Procedure





1. Transfer the seat back pad to the new cover.
2. Position the rear seat back cover/pad onto the rear seat back panel making sure the seat back pad is properly installed over the seat back latch.
3. Fold the seat back cover upper attachment strip into the rear seat back panel.




4. Install the rear seat back cover rear panel with retainers with a plastic mallet.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the rear seat back outer hinge with the outer hinge fasteners.

Tighten the rear folding seat back outer hinge fasteners to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).





6. Install the rear seat back cover J-strip over the seat back panel.
7. Starting at the rearmost portion of the escutcheon, locate the rear tab into the latch assembly. Push down to fully secure the escutcheon.
