Door Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Ensure the window is in the full-up position.
2. Remove the outer door panel. Refer to Rear Door Outer
Panel removal .
3. Remove the door sound deadener at the rear.
4. Remove the lock rod from the latch mechanism.
5. Remove the clip and lock cylinder.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the lock cylinder and clip.

Important: The lock rod retainers used in the door lock levers and mechanisms are not re-usable. The retention characteristics are minimized once a rod is extracted. The retainers must be replaced every time a rod is extracted.


2. Install the lock rod to the latch mechanism with a new retainer.
3. Install the door sound deadener at the rear.
4. Install the outer door panel. Refer to Rear Door Outer
Panel installation procedure .
5. Verify the proper outer door panel fit on all edges, adjacent panels, and to the lock cylinder. Adjust as necessary.
6. Verify the correct and smooth operation.
