Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure


Caution: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.





1. Open and support the hood.
2. Mark the position of the hood hinge by marking around the hood hinges with a grease pencil.
3. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the hinge bolts from the hinge.
5. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the hinge to the vehicle and align the hinge to the locating marks.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts to the hinge.

Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

3. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Close the hood.
