P1632

When the ignition switch is turned on, and the ECM illuminates the MIL (bulb check), the voltage change on the MIL control circuit is used as a wake up signal to the Theft Deterrent Module. This DTC indicates that the Theft Deterrent Module has detected a problem within the Theft Deterrent Module. The Theft Deterrent Module sends a signal to the ECM causing this DTC to set if no frequency code is received.

DTC PARAMETERS
This DTC will set if no password is received while the engine is cranking.

DTC P1632 is a (type D) DTC.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Attempting to start the vehicle by substituting parts without performing passlock password learn may set DTC P1631 or P1632.

Diagnose any BCM DTCs first.

Perform passlock password learn procedure in BCM replacement procedure.
