P0160
Diagnostic Chart:
Schematic:
The rear Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) are used to determine the oxygen storage capability of the pup converter. Rear O2 diagnostics will run after the sensor has been active for more than 80 seconds, and the catalyst temperature is greater than 600°C. The ECM will set this DTC if the sensor stays between 0.4 and 0.519 volts for greater than 10 minutes, or if the internal resistance of the sensor is greater than 40 k-ohms and the catalyst temperature is greater than 600°C (1112°F).
DTC PARAMETERS
This DTC will set when:
^ Engine is running
^ Catalytic temperature less than 700°C
^ Battery voltage greater than 11.03 volts
IMPORTANT: The HO2S signal is continuously checked once the above conditions have been met for 0.5 seconds.
DTC P0160 is a (type B) DTC
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
To locate an intermittent problem use Scan tool to monitor HO2S Bank 2 Sensor 2 voltage with engine idling at normal operating temperature. Bias voltage (450 mV) will appear on Scan tool if circuit is open.
