Intermittent Malfunction

An intermittent problem may or may not set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). If it is an intermittent failure, a DTC Chart is not used. Consult the Diagnostic Aids in the article corresponding to the intermittent DTC. Also, refer to the matrix charts in Diagnosis By Symptom. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures A physical/visual inspection of the applicable sub-system most often will resolve the problem. Use of the customer snap-shot and Scan tool snap-shot may isolate the malfunction. Refer to Symptom Diagnosis section for customer and Service Stall System (SSS) diagnosis for snap-shot operation.
